The concluding parsha of the book of Vayikra (Leviticus) is an anomaly. In a not immediately understandable order, there comes a list of rewards for following the word of Hashem, followed by a more lengthy list of punishments (or curses) for failing to do so. Aligning this list with the more famous list of blessings and curses near the end of Moshe’s life would be an interesting project, but at this point in the text, after having spent most of the book of Vayikra speaking about ritual observance tied to the priesthood, I am not sure why these lists appear here.
