In moving from Shmot (Exodus) to VaYikra (Leviticus) we see an end to any continued narrative for a number of weeks in favour of detailed laws about the sacrifices that were to be carried out in the Mishkan (Tabernacle) and later in the Beit Hamikdash (The Temple).
